![]() The issue is I'm when I did my initial clone from Windows 8.1 (default os) I had a few problems cloning ( kept getting errors)I tried different programs until I finally cloned it successfully with Ease us todo. Maybe I'm mistaken it's not the drive that is corrupted, just the system files. ![]() ![]() While that is fantastic advice, it is unfortunately too late for me to do that. Oh okay first of all thanks alot for your reply. I have incremental back ups storing to the seagate drive. So now my 512 GB SSD is in the primary drive slot and a 1TB seagate sshd hybrid drive is in the other. The DVD I made will be my go to to restore if the need ever arises as thats a lot easier than the factory restore then having to update to windows 10 which may no longer be available for free at that time. As soon as that was done I again used acronis true image to create a back up and bootbale media on a DVD and put that away. After that I installed acronis disk director and deleted the factory restore partitions and resized the OS partition to use the space left from that. When the cloning was done I pulled that original drive and put it in a box never to be seen again unless the proverbial poo hits the fan and I need to do a factory restore. Are you speaking about the factory restore? Is is win 7 or 8.1? If your drive was corrupted reinstalling the OS will do nothing.įirst thing I did right out of the box was to upgrade to windows 10, get all the drivers up to date, install acronis true image then clone the drive to a 512GB Samsung 850 pro SSD. ![]()
